Lovely place we stumbled upon during a visit to Bishop Auckland. The food was excellent as we're the staff. My daughter had the fish finger sandwich which was a huge baguette with three massive fish fingers, chips and a side salad. Great value. I had salmon and cream cheese sandwiches with crisps and a side salad. The place was filled with loads of 40s and 50s memorabilia. Great old songs playing as well. Highly recommended.
Nice place looking out onto the new market square. Good value and pleasant staff. Fiftees dresses and teapots etc add to the atmosphere. Adjacent Auckland Castle, garden and Watchtower look great but work was still going on when we were there in January 2019. We will be back!
Super scrummy cheese scones which were very welcome after a walk in the deer park. Love the relaxed atmosphere and fifties decor.
It was a lovely coffee and my mother enjoyed her tea, the cake and scone were/appeared to be made on the premises and all in all very tasty. I'm just not sure about the deco - it wasn't full on, mixing in sale of modern art and photographs with what appears to be a 50s throw back......I'd go the whole enchilada and give it a new lick of inspiration
My favourite place in Bishop Auckland! Absolutely love everything about this little tea rooms! The food in here is beautiful and the cakes are to die for! We always come in here as first choice for a hot drink or lunch. Everybody dresses in their 50's attire too and the staff are lovely.
