Excellent value for money. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely worth a visit and a trip down the mine. Very child friendly too.

Brilliant day out for everyone. Underground experience is fascinating. Our guide knew his stuff and was clearly passionate about the topic. Kids also loved the red squirrel hide. All the staff were fab, including the lovely lady in the cafe. Cafe could do with serving better and more healthy options - it doesnt do justice to how good the place is generally.

Very cold on your feet but really interesting. We had an excellent guide going up into the mine. My favourite part was seeing the red squirrels in the pine forest.

we visited last week and had the mining tour. Andrea was absolutely amazing. If you fancy a trip out with a great tour, great price and a decent cup of tea, this is the place to go. The lady at the counter in the cafe was keeping herself busy and working really hard. The place was spotless and flapjack delicious!

Informative museum of industrial heritage in pleasant surroundings. A visit down the mine is interesting for those that aren't claustrophobic, waterproof footwear/wellies recommended, the centre has a small supply but sizes can't be guaranteed. There is a Cafe on site, although a little expensive for my liking. You can see they are making progress with developing the site with new walkways and a squirrel hide for those who are able to trek a little.A lot of the site is wheelchair accessible, the mine however is very narrow so I am guessing it isn't.Overall, worth a visit if you are nearby or passing on your way to your destination. You could easily spend a couple of hours here and parking is free.
