This is without a doubt one of the best B&B value we have ever found in UK travels! The hosts are lovely friendly people ,the breakfast was excellent! Our back twin bedroom was quiet with a view and a very nice bathroom And hosts cook wonderful suppers too!!! Also note they speak fluent German French and Spanish if needed!!! Bill and Kat
We needed a friendly B&B outside Bishop Auckland and Auck House was the answer. Our hosts Kate and Garry were delightful,friendly and very knowledgeable of the area. The house is comfortable and centrally located with parking out the front. The bedroom was pleasingly quiet, light and airy, Beds comfy with crisp linen for a good night's sleep.Bathroom was immaculate. Breakfast was first class with choices, I had grapefruit to start then a cooked breakfast even a choice of black pudding.Kate and Garry run a great B&B so do yourself a favour, book in for a night or two and enjoy your stay.
What can I say.. An all-round pleasant Bed-And-Breakfast experience. We arrived as a group as 6 sweaty cyclists and were received with a warm welcome, and saw our needs catered for beyond the "call of duty". If you need a B&B in this (beautiful) part of the world you're pretty much stuck with this one anyway, because there's nothing else to choose from, but you won't regret it! As far as West Auckland goes, your dining options are somewhat limited, but you could always save your appetite for the excellent breakfast!
