Had Sunday carvery here lots of times absolutely lovely, all the meat delicious, vegetables great and always very tasty gravy, on top of that you always get a free sweet for around 30thats including drinks for 2 people you can't go wrong, as you can pile as much food on as you wish, staff are friendly helpful, and treat you with the greatest of respect, also fantastic with children. Evening meals are main menu 2 for 1 even on the steaks, all table service, sweets and puddings to die for, we also have had high tea here, delicious scones and cakes , I have recommended this place to family and friends, and every one has agreed with me
The Hotel is a good venue for travelers. The rooms are clean, warm and large enough. Yes, you have to run the hot water for a time, but if you are aware of that it's not a big deal.

Unassuming from the outside but the restaurant and bar were beautifully decorated and a really lovely atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a Groupon deal afternoon tea which was really nice. Lots of food and accommodating of dietary requirements. The cheesecake had possibly been frozen previously and carrot cake was a little dry but over all really lovely.
The owner & staff were phenomenal! We arrived via train during a very busy time for taxis. We called the Park Head Hotel, and they were able to send a taxi out to us! We were treated with enormous hospitality! We had a delicious dinner that night, and breakfast the next day. The room was cozy, and the bathroom with the towel heater was delightful! They helped arrange for a taxi and once we got to the shop we were visiting we realized we forgot a water bottle. They had already called the shop with a message they were sending it to us! Customer service is spot on A+++! We will plan to come back on our next trip!
